FUNERAL RITES THURSDAY

 

Services for John Steinhauer, retired painter, who died at his home, 1007 Columbia Street, Newport, Monday night, will be held at the residence Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock.  Rev. Harold Barkhau, pastor of St. John Evangelical Church, will officiate.  Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.

Steinhauer was 80 years old, and came from Germany as a boy, and lived in Newport 70 years.  Twelve years ago, he retired from business.  He was the oldest member of William Tell Lodge of Odd Fellows, Newport.

Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Louise Steinhauer; a son, George Steinhauer, St. Louis, MO.; two daughters, Mrs. John Braun, Newport; and Mrs. Arch Buchner, Price Hill, Cincinnati, Ohio; and five grandchildren; one great-grandchild and a sister, Mrs. Kate Matz.  Fred A. Erschell & Sons, Newport, have charge of funeral arrangements.
