NEWPORT NEWS
DROWNED-A skiff containing two drummer boys belonging to the
Second U S Infantry stationed at the Newport Barracks, was upset in the Ohio
River, near one of the piers of the Covington and Cincinnati Bridges, about 5
o'clock, on Monday evening, by which one of the lads, named John W Prine, from
Eastport, New Jersey, was drowned.
The body has not yet been recovered.
