John Noonan, 62, a highly respected citizen of Newport, died at 1:30 am Sunday at his home, 32 West Third Street of dropsy. He was prominent in business in Cincinnati and had a plumbing establishment for 16 years at 609 Walnut Street and a week ago moved to Eighth and Walnut. He had been ill for some time and lingered until Sunday. He was prominent in the order of Elks, a director in the Washington Loan Association and a member of the Master Plumbers Association.

The funeral will take place Wednesday morning at 9 am from the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Newport Lodge of Elks will meet Monday night to take action on his death and to arrange to attend the funeral and to hold services at the home at 8:15. The burial will take place at St Joseph Cemetery in Cincinnati.

The funeral of John Noonan of Newport, took place Wednesday morning at the late home on West Third Street. Newport Lodge of Elks, of which he as a prominent member, attended in a body and conducted the Elk funeral services at the home. The lodge then proceeded to the funeral cortege to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, where a requiem high mass was celebrated by Rev James McNerny.

John Noonan in life, was held in high esteem by the community and his legion of friends filled the church during the services. The pallbearers were: Senator John P Newman, J Peter Weckman, Ed C Remme, T F O'Neil, John B Fletcher, R Murphy, M Burke and James J Dowd. The remains were taken to St Joseph Cemetery Cincinnati, for burial.
