John Michael Murtha

Word was received here last night of the death of John Murtha, 208 Washington avenue, Newport, at a government hospital in Chicago. He had been ill for some time. Mr. Murtha was a World War veteran and a member of the James Wallace Costigan Post, American Legion. As a corporal in Battery F, 317th Field Artillery, he saw serving overseas for 16 months during the recent war. He was a member of Newport Aerie of Eagles No 280.

He leaves a widow, Minnie, one brother Nicholas, Detroit Michigan; and one step brother, Albert Seder, attached to the government services in Honolulu. Funeral arrangements will be completed by John J Radel Co. Newport upon arrival of the body.
