John Mueller

BLOW ON HEAD-Relatives of John Mueller of Newport, whom the Kankakee, Ill. police stated was insane at that place, believe he was struck on the head with a club which caused him to become insane. The young man is a cook on the Big Four and his family reside at Sixth and Monmouth Streets. When Mrs. Mueller heard of the news she stated that on last Friday, when he reached home, his shirt front collar band and cuffs were blood stained.

Mueller is 30 years old and a physical giant. He weighs 200 pounds and is about six feet in height. His father went to Kankakee to bring him home. Mrs. Mueller is unable to furnish any information regarding the assault which she believes was committed on her son.

WILL INVESTIGATE-Deputy Sheriff Charles Davis and John Ader of Newport, took John Mueller to the asylum at Lakeland Friday afternoon. Mueller was violently and had to be placed in shackles on the way. The mother of the young Mueller claimed he was struck on the head last week which caused the young man to become insane. The authorities will make a thorough investigation of the case.
