John Morton, 68, father of Patrolman Frank Morton, and an old river engineer, died Saturday night at his home on West Sixth st. Newport. The deceased leaves a widow, four sons and four daughters.
He was a sufferer from paralysis. One of his sons, Charles, has not been heard from for eight years. Another is in the navy; Morton's grandfather was John Norton, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.
