A telegram was received in Newport yesterday afternoon concerning the death of John McNamara at the naval hospital in Pensacola Fla. He was a seaman on the torpedo boat destroyer Wordon. He was also a veteran in the Spanish American War, having served in Cuba and Puerto Rico campaigns. He became ill some time ago with pneumonia and was sent to the hospital.

The remains will be brought to Newport for burial. His brothers are Dennis, Peter and Joseph McNamara, of 605 Elm st.

The remains of John F McNamara, who died at the Naval Hospital in Pensacola Fla. arrived over the Pennsylvania Road this morning and taken to the home, 605 Elm st. Newport by Director Costigan.

The funeral will take place Monday morning at 2 pm from Immaculate Conception Church. The Spanish American War Veterans will attend.
