NEWPORT BRIEFS
Patrolman John McCafferty, 54, died yesterday at his residence,
338 West Sixth street, after a lingering illness. Dropsy was the cause of death.
He was formerly a county patrolman and leaves a widow and seven children. The funeral service will be held Wednesday morning at the Church of the Immaculate Conception.
