The following are Northern Kentucky men who answered the call to the colors by enlisting Wednesday at Cincinnati recruiting stations:

Army-George F Warner, laborer, Newport; John Link Jr. storekeeper, Van Voast av. Bellevue.

John Link Jr. of Van Voast av. Bellevue, who was removed to Speers Memorial Hospital, Dayton, late Wednesday night, suffering from a gash in his throat, was reported improving Friday. John Link, father of the wounded man, said that his son complained of the heat.

John Link, son of John Link, former Newport fire chief, died Wednesday at the Ft Thomas army hospital following an attack of pneumonia. Link saw service throughout the Philippine campaign. He was then honorably discharged and re-enlisted at the outbreak of war with Germany. He formerly lived with his parents in Bellevue.
