damaged to the extent of $7000, upon which there is no insurance. Lt. John G
Korte of the hose wagon, was badly chopped in the right hand with his fire ax.

Funeral of John Korte, 77, of 333? E 10th st. Newport, was held Thursday at 4 pm at Evergreen Chapel. Korte who died Monday was a Civil War veteran and member of William Nelson Post GAR. He had been a resident of Newport 33 years. He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Mrs. Edward C--dy. Another daughter Mrs. Bertha Mamme of Newport, died several months ago.
