Kersten-O'Day Post No 2899 Bellevue-Dayton Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States elected Otto Heeg, Dayton, discharged World War II veteran, as commander at the recent regular meeting. These officers also were elected: John Kemmerling, Dayton, as senior vice commander.
Installation ceremonies have been set for April 8 with Walter Schell, past commander, as installing officer. Harrison R Herms will be installation chairman.

No verdict is expected until Jan 7 in the Christmas Day death of John Kemmerling, 38, formerly of 420 Kenton street, Dayton, it was learned Saturday. Thomas and William Kemmerling, brothers of the dead man, returned home Saturday after flying to Chicago where the victim's body was found in his roomat the Chicago YMCA. The brothers said an inquest was held Friday at which the decision was made to withhold the verdict.
Mr. Kemmerling's body was found by Alvin Groote, a Chicago policeman, who was a friend of the former Dayton man. A bullet from Mr. Groote's pistol is said to have caused Kemmerling's death. Mr. Kemmerling was employed as a structural ironworker in Chicago.
Requiem High Mass will be sung at 9 am Monday at St Bernard church, Dayton, followed by burial in St Stephen Cemetery. Vonderhaar & Stetter funeral home is in charge.
