RITES FOR NEWPORT RESIDENT
Requiem high mass will be intoned Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, Newport, for John J. Shea, 66, of 556 E. Fourth-st., Newport, who died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Hospital after an operation. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery.
Rev. John Farrel, of Cleveland, O., cousin of Shea, will assist Rev. Joseph A. Flynn, pastor at the mass. Pallbearers will be Henry Maher, John Wallace, Thomas McGeough, Louis Hughes, John Maher and Henry Fitzsimmons.
Shea had been connected with the Southern Railroad many years, and at the time of his retirement four years ago was master mechanic of the shops at Ludlow. He was the oldest member in number of years’ affiliation of the local Machinists’ Union.
He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. James McKeon, with whom he
lived, and Mrs. Daniel Lacey, Price Hill.
