The bodies of nine northern Kentuckians who gave their lives in World War II, are among the 4459 American heroes being returned to this country from Manila aboard the U.S. Army Transport.  Among those being brought back here are armed forces dead originally interred in temporary military cemeteries in New Guinea and the Philippine Islands.

Next of kin are to be notified in advance of arrival of the vessel and again three days before the remains are sent to them by the regional Distribution Center of the American Graves Registration Service. Those from Northern Kentucky and their next of kin are: Tech 4 John A Hubig, Army, Mrs. Johanna Hubig, 1035 York street, Newport.

Requiem High Mass for Tech 4 John A Hubig, 1035 York street, Newport, will be sung at St Stephen Church at 9 am Tuesday. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. He was 36. Tech Hubig drowned during military duties on Boganville in the South Pacific, March 30, 1944. Before entering the service, he was a baker for the Pioneer Bakery, Norwood O.

He leaves his mother, Mrs. Johanna Hubig, widow of the late Charles Hubig, and two brothers, Charles and Albert Hubig, Newport. The Muehlenkamp funeral home, Newport, is in charge of arrangements.
