Funeral services for Dr. John F Houston, prominent retired Campbell county physician and former county commissioner and treasurer will be held at the residence Sunday at 2 pm. Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery. Dr. Houston was 78. He died Friday.

For more than 40 years, Dr. Houston had followed his profession in Campbell county. He established an office in Newport following his graduation from the Cincinnati Medical College and later moved to Alexandria. He was a native of Foster, Ky. His entrance into the countys government was made as a county commissioner, which position he held for 12 years. Later he served as county treasurer for eight years. For a number of years he was county physician in the section surrounding Alexandria.

He leaves a widow, Mrs. Nettie Wheeler Houston; three daughters, Mrs. Irene H Schaber, teacher at Arnold School, Newport; Miss Bess Houston, Newport superntendent of the Immigrant House of Friendlieness, Cincinnati and Mrs. Frances Boyers, Cincinnati; a brother, Edward of Lenoxburg Ky; two sisters Mrs. Lou Ogden, Covington and Mrs. Minerva Van Landingham, Loveland O.

Members of the Campbell County Fiscal Court will be honorary pallbearers Monday at the funeral of Dr. John F Houston at his former residence in Alexandria. Dr. Houston, who practiced medicine in Campbell county for 40 years was a member of the court 12 years and county treasurer for eight years.
