Kentucky Post, Friday, 11 September 1903, page 5
Deputy Coroner Cameron of Cincinnati, Thursday, made an autopsy
of the body of John B Desmond, who died at the Betts Street Hospital Wednesday
from a bullet wound in the neck, caused by the accidental charge at Cold Spring
Ky. of a Flobert Rifle in the hands of Charles Bode, the dead man's former
employer.
The autopsy showed that a 22 caliber ball entered the muscle of the right arm, making only a flesh wound, furred its way over the shoulder and entered the neck, where it pressed upon the windpipe, causing suffocation and hemorrhage.
The funeral took place Friday morning from St Edward Church, on Clark street, and the interment was in St Joseph Cemetery.
