NEWPORT
Night before last, some disorderly scoundrel shot a valuable
horse and several sheep belonging to John Betz, the dairyman, residing about one
mile back of this city.

Some unknown person, night before last, visited the barnyard of a man named J Betz, who lives near this city, and shot a valuable horse and several sheep. The animals were found dead in the morning, but the perpetrator of the act had escaped.
