OLD VETERAN
John Bauer, 70, a Civil War veteran, dropped dead shortly after 7
am this morning at the Three Mile House on the Licking Pike, Campbell co,
conducted by John Brown. Deceased had been granted a leave of absence from the
Dayton O. Soldiers Home and was boarding with Brown, who is an old acquaintance.
He seemed to be in fairly good health when he arose today but on going to the
kitchen an attack of heart failure came upon him and he fell to the floor dead.
Coroner Digby was notified and rendered a verdict of death due to heart failure. The body was moved to John J Radel & Co undertaking to be prepared for burial.
