John Gilbert Amis, a veteran of the World War and a member of the James Wallace Costigan Post of the American Legion, died early Tuesday at his home, 134 W 10th street, Newport. He was 44. He was a machinist at the John Van Range Co. Cincinnati.
He leaves his widow, Theresa Amis; his mother, Mrs. Lyda Amis, Owsley county Ky. two daughters, Mrs. Lennie Clem, Newport and Mrs. Ross Eckler, Hamilton O. a brother, Edward Amis, Hamilton and one grandchild. Friends my call at the Radel funeral home, Newport until 8 pm Wednesday.
Burial will be at Beattyville Ky.
