This community was deeply shocked by the announcement of the
death of Mr. J H Stegeman yesterday morning at 7 o'clock. Mr. Stegeman has been

several days ago his physicians pronounced his trouble cancer of the stomach and
gave him but little hope of recovery.
His friends and family, however, were loath to believe the matter so serious and to many the news of his death will be an unexpected blow.
Mr. Stegeman was a member of the distilling firm of Stegeman & Robson, and was well and favorable known among business men. He has been a resident of the Highlands for the past eight years and was very popular among a large circle of friends and acquaintances.
