Funeral of Miss Payne
The funeral of Miss Jennie Payne, the school teacher, will take place tomorrow afternoon from St Paul's Church. The following pall bearers have benn selected: Superintendent Burke, Prof Hammon, Charles Smith, Frank Covalt, Enos Williams, and President Jenkins, of the School Board.
The teachers at the various schools met yesterday at the high school and resolved to attend the funeral in a body. The following committee was appointed to craft suitable resolutions; Mrs. Dameron, Miss Purser, Miss Perry, Miss C Payne, Mirss Smith and Mr. Hammond. The flag on the Fourth Street School is hung at half mast in her memory.
