NEWPORT


ALLEGED ROBBERY-A warrant was issued by the Mayor yesterday for the arrest of a soldier at the Newport Barracks, named Jas McNamara, who is charge with stealing a watch from G Konnersburg, a dealer in second hand articles on York street.

According to the statement of the latter, McNamara sold him a watch, but came afterward with one or two other men and forcibly took it away from him.

NEWPORT

ARREST ON THE CHARGE OF ROBBERY-James McNamara, a soldier stationed at the Newport Barracks, was arrested Saturday upon the charge of forcibly taking a watch from G Konnersburg, the keeper of a second hand store on York street.

Mayor Buchanan, after investigation the charge against accused, held him to bail in the sum of three hundred dollars for his appearance at the Criminal Court.
