Eileen Murphy Boehmer
Irish Eyes are smiling; At the age of 95, Janet Eileen Murphy Boehmer journeyed to her heavenly home on February 12, 2022 from Highland Springs, Fort Thomas Ky. She was born to Lillian & Carl Murphy on October 16, 1926. Janet was a graduate of Bellevue High School and Speers Memorial Hospital Nursing School and was a World War 2 Army Cadet Nurse.
She married WW2 Army Vet Lionel Boehmer in 1947, who passed away in May 2006. Janet will be greatly missed by her daughters; Diana Gross (Jim) of Sarasota Florida; Sheila Everson (Tom) of Wilder Ky and Sharon Schomaker (Steve) of Ft Thomas Ky. as well as her brother Lawrence Thomas Murphy (Nancy) of Grand Rapids MI. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, along with many family members and friends.
Janet was always dedicated and giving, she will be remembered for her beautiful voice, singing in the house as well as in the church choir. She was active in local voting, serving as a poll worker and judge. She was a volunteer with Campbell County Fiscal Court Senior Center, chairing committees and bingo.
Janet made hats and blankets for newborns at University Hospital and delivered Meals on Wheels to the local elderly. She was a member of the Belles and Beuz.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022 from 10 am-12pm with a service to follow at 12pm at the Dobbling Funeral Home, 106 South Fort Thomas Av. Ft Thomas Ky. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Wood Hudson Cancer Research, 931 Isabella St. Newport Ky.
