MARRIED
John Thornton, a well to do farmer, of California, the county and Jane Parker of Alexandria, were married yesterday by Rev Dr. Brown, pastor of the Alexandria Baptist Church, at his residence. The groom is 71 years of age and the bride 52.
The couple endeavored to keep the marriage a secret. A messenger was sent to the Clerk's off ice at Alexandria for the license, with instructions to keep the affair quite.
