Mayor Wright yesterday purchased two skiffs for the use of the police force in case of emergency. He visited the flood points in Newport yesterday and no suffering is reported. There are only two classes of floods in Newport benefit and those are the saloon keepers and expressmen.

Along Front street it was nearly impassable yesterday and the water has cut off passage on Bellevue street at Isabella, where it is four feet deep. On the corner of Southgate and Isabella streets the water is twenty feet deep.

Regular session last night with Mayor Wright in the chair. The lobby was well filled with the citizens of Monroe and Harris streets who petitioned to have those streets repaired before the bad weather set in.
