At a meeting of citizens of Jamestown, Campbell County, Kentucky, held at the Jamestown Hotel last night, April 22, for the purpose of forming a Home Guard.

NEWPORT NEWS
JAMESTOWN AND BROOKLYN HOME GUARD-At a meeting of the above
company on Monday evening, April 23, for the purpose of receiving a flag from
Captain Charles Stone, formerly presented by the ladies of Jamestown and
Brooklyn to the Boone Rangers.
Colonel Smally delivered a patriotic and Union loving address, after which a vote of thanks was tendered him by the company; also to Captain Stone. The greatest enthusiasm was manifested by all present declaring devotion to the Union. The following committee was then appointed to procure arms; James Peters, Judge Skilbeck and John Schwartz.
Also, a committee to confer with the delegations from Cincinnati and Covington, at the Court house in Newport, on Wednesday, the 24th. The following gentlemen were appointed: M. McArthur, President of the Committee; Charles Barnes, H Weavering, Thomas Nelson, E Moore, J C Symonds, R Kruz and J K Edwards.
A committee was also appointed to draw up rules and regulations for the government of the company.
