NEWPORT
The numerous friends of James Douglas Tibbatts in Cincinnati and
cities across the river will be pained to hear of his sudden death in New York.
Mr. Tibbatts was only ill four days with pneumonia. He was born and reared in
Newport Ky. where he was related and connected with many prominent people.
He was a young man of great promise and was connected with the New York Journal at the time of his death. He will be buried from the residence of his mother in Newport this Friday afternoon. He was a relative of the Taylors and Hodges of Newport and Harry D Smith, the West Fourth street manufacturer of this city. His grandfather Tibbatts was a member of Congress from the Newport Ky. District.
