J M Thomasson, 52, of Tenth and York Streets, Newport, died suddenly at 9:30 Thursday morning. He was a highly respected citizen and uncle of the Doctors Thomasson, both of Newport and Capt. Case Thomasson of the Newport Fire Department. He was taken ill Wednesday afternoon and the physicians worked through the night trying to save his life. The cause of his death was strangulation of the bowels. He had a confectionary at his home for years and was well known.

The funeral of J M Thomasson, who died suddenly Thursday at his
home, Tenth and York Streets, Newport, will take place on Sunday from the
Central Christian Church at 2 o'clock. The pall bearers will be six nephews. The
honorary bearers will be chosen from Eureka Lodge, K of P and Noah's Dove Lodge,
IOOF.
The officers and members of Noah's Dove Lodge, IOOF will assemble at the hall at 2:30 pm Sunday to attend the funeral in a body.

The funeral of the late J M Thomasson took place in Newport Sunday afternoon from the First Christian Church. Eureka Lodge K of P and Noah's Dove Lodge, IOOF attended in a body. Many beautiful floral tributes covered the casket.
The active pallbearers were six nephews, Kirk Plummer, William H White, Dr. Charles McCullom, Harry Rardin, Dr. Leonard Yelton and William T Thomasson. The honorary pallbearers were selected from the Knights of Pythias and Odd Fellows.
