Kentucky Post, Tuesday, 16 July 1895, page 7

One of the most enjoyable events in the history of Campbell County was the reunion last Sunday at the beautiful home of Captain Hall, in Grants Lick, of the descendants of James J Stevens, who is life was known better as "Uncle Jimmy" the first white person born in Campbell County, that event having occurred in 1774.*

There were present Sunday over 40 of the family, who spent the day in feasting and a general good time. A number of family relics were displayed, notably the old family bible, in which is recorded Uncle Jimmy's birth, marriage and death, also the birth of all his descendants; also the old oak chair in which his mother rocked him to sleep over 100 years ago.

*NOTE: Campbell County was formed Dec 1794, the state formed in 1792, from Mason County.
