Private James McGovern

Private James McGovern, Company K, Twenty-second Infantry, has been sent to the Government Asylum for the Insane at Washington DC. McGovern, while serving in the Marine Corps in the Pacific Squadron, in 1900, suffered from a heat stroke and his mind was unbalanced.

He was sent to the asylum at that time and afterward released as cured. He then enlisted in the Twenty-second and shortly after he deserted and was apprehended. He will not be tried for desertion on account of his mental status.
