ADDITIONAL NEWPORT
MR. JAMES McDERMOTT, Secretary of the Bricklayers Union, died
suddenly at his home on Patterson street last Saturday morning. He went to
work as usual on Friday and Saturday night complained of feeling ill.
Early in the morning his wife went to wake him and found him death.
He had complaining for several days of pains around his heart. Coroner Davis held an inquest and rendered a verdict of death from embolism.
