NEWPORT NEWS

Habeas Corpus-A young man by the name of James Maley was before Mayor Hawkins yesterday on a writ of habeas corpus. It appears that he was a soldier at the Barracks, had enlisted in the United States Army some time and and was a minor.

There was no cause shown why he should be restrained of his liberty and he was consequently discharged.
