James
R Kiser
James R Kiser was born 19 Aug 1845 in Gubser Mill Ky, the son of Milton & Harriet Kiser. He enlisted in the Civil War 12 Oct 1863 as a private in Co H 37th Ky Infantry and was discharged 29 Dec 1864. He married Alice E Hampton 22 Sep 1868 in Clermont Co Oh, the daughter of James Hampton and Harriet Nelson. He lived in Gubser Mill his whole life and worked as a farmer.
James received a pension on 5 Mar 1888 and died 20 Aug 1923. He was buried in the Grandview Cemetery in Mentor Ky. Alice received a widow's pension 20 Sep 1923 and died 11 May 1937 in Persimmon Grove. She was also buried in Grandview Cemetery.
