DEATH OF JAMES TAYLOR JONES
James Taylor Jones died yesterday at 1:30 pm at his home, 635 Overton street, after an illness of but 10 days duration. He was 45 years of age and leaves a widow and three children, Mary, Keturah and Thomas Lawrence Jones. He was the oldest son of the late Colonel Thomas L Jones, the immediate predecessor of Secretary Carlisle as Representative in Congress from the Sixth District of Kentucky.
While his father was Congressman, "Jimmie" as the deceased was familiarly known, was Secretary of various congressional committees. He was beneficiary under the will of the late Colonel James Taylor, his grandfather, to the amount of $70,000, so devised that the beneficiary had no immediate control of the money. Few men had a more extensive acquaintance than Jimmie Jones.
He was popular with all and all will regret to learn that he has paid nature's debt. The funeral arrangements have not as yet been completed.
