DROWNED-Captain James Howard, a well known resident of this city, was drowned at Louisville on Saturday last.  Mr. Howard was elected Wharf master at the last election, but resigned his office to accept a position in the Ram Fleet.  He subsequently returned and enlisted in Captain Arthur's cavalry company.

While embarking on a steamboat at Louisville, on the above mentioned day, he accidentally fell overboard and was drowned.
