James and Anne Shaw

James Shaw is believed to have been born in Belfast, Ireland
and he came to America
in 1770 settling in York County, Pennsylvania. He came to Alexandria about
1800 and died there in 1824. He wife’s name was Anne Jolly and he bought
land in Alexandria in September 1807. It is believed that James, Robert,
John and David Shaw were brothers who came out of York County, Pennsylvania.
