James Gallucci, Newport, police sergeant, learned Friday that his
brother, Pfc. Joseph Gallucci, 23, of Columbus O. is in a base hospital in North
Africa recovering from a wound in his right hip, sustained in the Sicilian
campaign.
Pfc. Gallucci was struck by a shell fragment on Aug 4. His mother, Mrs. Mary Gallucci, Columbus, received the Purple Heart medal for her son two weeks ago.
