James Cronin, who gave up his insurance and real estate business
in Newport to enter the army, died Monday at Camp Zachary Taylor, Louisville, a
victim of Spanish influenza. Cronin was one of Newport's most active young men
and was a leading member of the Newport Council of the Knights of Columbus.

Announcement of the death of James "Jimmie" Cronin, Newport, who gave up his real estate and insurance business to enter Uncle Sam's service as a private at Camp Taylor, Ky. has cast gloom among his friends.
Cronin, 29, was one of the most popular men in the city. The body will be sent to the home of his parents, 923 Washington av. The funeral announcement will be made later.

Services for James Cronin, of Newport, whose death occurred Monday at Camp Taylor, Ky. after an attack of Spanish Influenza, will be held Thursday afternoon at his late home, 923 Washington av. Newport at 2:30 pm. The body will be buried in Evergreen Cemetery.
