John P Nagel, Newport Jailer, Tuesday afternoon saw a sister he had not seen for six years. Sister Mary Isadore, formerly was Miss Stella Nagel. She passed through Cincinnati on her way to Nazareth Ky. where she expects to pursue studies in a convent.

John P Nagel, Newport City Jailer, admitted to Mayor Andrew J Livingston Saturday that J K Shouse, Norwood O. really was missing from the Newport jail. Nagel had for two days refused to admit to reporters that Shouse was not in the jail. The man's escape was discovered by George Simms, turnkey, when he checked up on the prisoners Wednesday.

Rufus Hunter, of Cincinnati, was apprehended in Newport by Dave Murphy and George Jackson, Newport detectives after escaping jail. He was being led to his cell by John P Nagel, Newport Jailer when he wrested himself free from Nagel's grasp and darted through an open door in the kitchen of the jail.

John P Nagel, Newport City Jailer, said Thursday he would plead not guilty to indictment charging he permitted a prisoner to escape and let the jail get in unsanitary conditions. Indictment was returned Wednesday by Campbell co. grand jury following escape of William Devere, federal liquor prisoner.
