Ed Harvey, 50, Assistant Newport Jailer, died Monday night at his home, 625 Maple av. Harvey had been suffering from dropsy for many months and had not been able to work.
He was given the jail position six years ago when Christ Ebert, now Safety Commissioner, was City Jailer. He is survived by a widow, four sons and a daughter. Funeral services will be held from the home Thursday at 10 am. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
