Sarah Thomas

Jacob Thomas of Mason County, Kentucky married Sarah Kercheval, daughter of
John and Frances Winifred (Cholson) Kercheval of Virginia. John Kercheval
was of Mason County by 1800 and served there as Adjutant in the 29th Regiment,
in which he received his commission on July 21 1799. After Jacob's death,
his widow married in Campbell County on June 22 1812 to Hugh Rachford.

daughter of Daniel and Susan Thatcher; had son Huntoon who m Elizabeth Kennedy
Dameron 21 June 1859, daughter of Dr. Edward Porteus Kennedy and Maria Gregg.
Betsey was born 23 Nov 1802 in Alexandria.

1. Hugh Knox- 18 Aug 1815-8 May 1891 m-Elizabeth Jane Beall
1 June 1848, daughter of Samuel Josiah Beall and Elizabeth Ann Kennedy. He
was a physician and prominent civic leader in Campbell County. He was a member
of the Campbell County Agricultural Society and a member of the House of
Representatives of Kentucky 1857-1859. He held the Chair of Pediatrics in
Cincinnati for a time. Elizabeth was born 21 Feb 1825 and died 17
Jan 1884. He and his wife and three children who died young are buried in
the Alexandria Cemetery.
