CITY EMPLOYEE DIES
Jacob Shields, 49, was Employee of Newport Maintenance Department
Jacob Shields, 49, of 512 Elm-st., Newport, died late Friday at his home after
an illness of several months.
Shields was an employe in the Department of Maintenance of the city of Newport.
He was a member of Newport Council No. 21, Jr. O. U. A. M. and Pride of Kentucky
Council No. 67, Daughters of America.
Besides his widow, Mrs. Pearl Shields, the deceased is survived by one son,
Carlos Shields; three brothers, Henry, George and Arthur Shields, all of
Newport, and a sister, Mrs. Cassie Reuter [Renter], North Bend, O.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the home, with burial in
Evergreen Cemetery. John J. Radel Co., Newport undertakers, are in charge.
