DEAD

Jacob Jaeger, 42, married and the father of three children, who lived at the corner of Tenth and Isabella streets, Newport Ky. was found dead in his bed last evening. Life had been extinct for at least 48 hours and the heat and the body had decomposed until it was a horrible sight. the discovery was made by Tony Droege, who lives in the same house.

Mrs. Jaeger, the dead man's widow, was taken ill last week and went to the residence of Mrs. William Lohstroh, who is a sister of Jaeger. Two of the children are also visiting at St Bernard. The other, Alfred, has been staying with relatives in Newport and Sunday went home to see his father. He found him lying on the bed and failed to awaken him.

Last evening Mrs. Droege noticed an odor and spoke to her son concerning it. He noticed the Jaeger's room was disarranged. A key was procured and the door opened. Coroner Higgins said that excessive heat is supposed to have been the cause of death. The dead man was a member of the Catholic Knights of America and cigar maker by trade.
