Swing Martin, prominent Dayton banker and civic leader, has received word that his son, Jack R Martin, has been commissioned a second lieutenant in the Army Air Forces. The young officer received this promotion following completion of a course in meteorology at Chanute Field Ill.

The Grandfather's Club had a new member Thursday when Swing Martin, cashier of the State Bank, Dayton Ky. and Newport courthouse commissioner, joined its ranks.
Mrs. Betty Glenn Martin, wife of Lieut. Jack R Martin, son of the Dayton banker, had given birth to a seven pound son. Lieut. Martin is stationed at Luke Field in the Air Corps. Mrs. Martin is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Glenn, Dayton, and granddaughter of Frank Straab, Dayton city clerk.
