FORMER DEPUTY SHERIFF IS DEAD
Jack Dokes, once a deputy sheriff of Campbell-co and policeman of Newport, died at the residence of George Offenbacher, on Fifth-st., Newport, Tuesday. He was not married.
Dokes was about 60 years old. He had been ill for several months. A brother survives in Cincinnati. Dokes was a cousin of Lieut. Geo. Kirby of the Newport police department and was a policeman at the Queen City race track, on the Licking-pike, back of Newport, in 1900.
