Howard Myers, 36, World War veteran, died Friday night at his home, 636 Lexington avenue, Newport, after an illness of three months. Mr. Myers, a lifelong resident of Newport, had been a machine gunner during the war and had taken part in several battles, including the battle of Chateau Thierry. He was gassed during the fighting.

He was a member of the Robert Burns Masonic Lodge of Newport, and the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen. He leaves a widow, Henrietta Myers; a daughter Ruth Marian and a half-sister, Miss Daisy Myers, Kansas City. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at the home with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. A C Dobbling, Bellevue undertaker is in charge.
