CPL Howard Ewing, 23, husband of Mrs. Mary Ewing of 194 Ohio avenue, Newport and son of Mrs. Anna Ewing of 719 Liberty street, Newport, previously listed as missing in action in Belgium since Dec 19, was reported killed in action on that date.

Serving in the Tenth Armoured Divison Cp. Ewing entered the service in November 1942 and was sent overseas in September 1944. a brother Cpl William Ewing is now serving in Germany.

Services for Cpl. Howard W Ewing, 23, of 708 Central avenue, Newport, will be held at the John J Radel funeral home, Newport, at 10:30 am Monday. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Cpl. Ewing was killed in action while serving with the 10th Armored Division of the Third Army in Belgium. He leaves his mother, Mrs. Ann Flaig Ewing, a daughter, Miss Rosalie Ewing, New Richmond O; a sister, Mrs. Gladys Johnson and a brother, William Ewing Jr. both of Newport.

Lawler-Hanlon Post 5662 Veterans of Foreign Wars will hold graveside services.
