Item 1-I give unto my wife Mary my property and estate of every description in case of her surviving me as held in the deed of trust aforesaid and all the advantages thereof during her natural life, or on her acceptance in heir thereof the following negro slaves, to wit, William son of Pleasant, Martha Ann daughter of Patty and Eliza and Winston children of Sally, to her and her heirs forever and in case of her acceptance and at her death making no provision for the disposition of said negroes, they shall be disposed of as my executor or executors shall deem most proper.

Item 2-I give and bequeath unto my son John W. Hinde at the death of my wife or on her making her election aforesaid my household and kitchen furniture, stock of all kinds, farming utensils and the following negro slaves to wit: John son of Pleasant, Patty daughter or Pleasant and the residue of her children Emily, Pleasant. Sary Jane, Anthony and here and their future increase to him and his heirs forever.

Item 4-I give and bequeath unto the heirs of Edmund Taylor dec'd and my daughter Polly his wife two negro slaves, viz. Berry and Susan son and daughter of Jenny(?) dec'd,  and to my daughter Polly Todd Taylor aforesaid my negro slaves Kitt son of Sally and Thornton same to her and her heirs forever.

Item 5-I give and bequeath unto my son in law Richard Southgate and daughter Nancy (Ann) his wife, my negro slaves Sukey daughter of Pleasant and her children Sally and Nathan to them and their heirs forever.

To my son-in-law LeRoy Cole and daughter Susan Brooks Cole, I give and bequeath the negroes received from me prior to the execution of the deed of trust aforesaid.

To my son-in-law Robert Richardson and daughter Elizabeth Clifford Richardson, the negroes and other property received of me prior to the execution of the said deed and one shilling.  I direct my executors to pay said Robert in full and no more.

Item 6-I give and bequeath unto my son Thomas S Hinde, my negro slave Ira, son of Pleasant to him and his heirs and my manuscript receipt book for the practice of Physic and unto my son John W Hinde my surgical instruments to them and their heirs forever.

I do hereby (appoint) Richard Southgate my son-in-law, my son Thomas L Hinde, executors and my wife Mary T Hinde executrix of this my last will and testament.  In Testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal this fifteenth day of September A D eighteen fifteen.

COCICIL-Hereby revoking all wills and other instruments of writing contrary to the provisions of this, I hereby ratify the same with this proviso.  I hereby alter the bequest to Polly T Taylor, now Polly McKinney, as follows-I hereby give in trust to Wm W Southgate and Richard H Southgate or the survivor in trust during the natural life of Col. John McKinney and free from his control the property contained in the bequest to her and upon his death, if she survives him, then to her and her heirs forever.  But if he survives her, then upon the death of said Polly, I devise the said negroes ot the children of said Polly and their heirs & forever.

Campbell Court November 1828

The foregoing last will and testament with a codicil thereto attached was produced in Court on Monday the 24th November 1828 and partly proved by the Oath of Daniel Mayo, a subscribing witness to said will according to law and on Tuesday November 25, in said year Frances Mary Southgate, who is a witness to said Codicil on oath proved the same according to law, whereupon said will and codicil were ordered to be recorded which is done accordingly.
