NEWPORT BOY FOUND
The body of Henry Schmitker, 20, of 924 Monroe street, Newport
Ky. who was drowned in the Little Miami River, near Linwood, Sunday, was
recovered yesterday by Andrew Schrimper and George and Paul Penslach, friends,
who have been searching the river since the young man's tragic death.
Schmitker and Schrimper attended at picnic at Clark's Grove Sunday, and becoming warm from dancing, went to the river to take a swim. Schrimper went in first and found that the water was quite deep. He advised his companion not to come in as he could not swim, but Schmitker ventured into the water and got beyond his depth and was drowned.
The young man's death is pathetic, as he and his brother, Benjamin were the sole support of a widowed mother, a sister, an aunt and their grandmother.
