SACKSTEDER SERVICES
Requiem High Mass Sung for Newport Ice Dealer
Funeral services for Henry W. Sacksteder, 47, of 39 E. 10th-st., Newport, were held Friday at the home, with requiem high mass held a t 9 a.m. at St. Stephens Church, Newport. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery.
Sacksteder died late Tuesday at his home following an illness of several days. Members of the family believe a stroke caused his death.
He was widely known in Newport where he had lived all his life. He had conducted an ice business on E. 10th-st for a number of years and was a member of St. Stephens Court No. 1380, Catholic Order of Foresters of Newport.
Members of the Foresters will meet Thursday night at their hall and proceed in a body to the home to hold services. Besides his widow, Carrie, Sacksteder is survived by three children, Mrs. Dolores Ubel and Augustus and Eleanora Sacksteder, all of Newport.
