NEWPORT

THE funeral of Policeman Naber was largely attended yesterday morning, headed by the Mayor, City Judge and City Marshall. They moved from the Engine house on Bellevue street, headed by Tibbatts Cornet Band and were reinforced at the intersection of Isabella and Bellevue streets by the Covington police.

They proceeded in a body to the residence of the deceased and escorted the remains to the beautiful church Corpus Christi, when after the religious ceremonies the procession proceeded to the suburbs of the city, when they returned to the engine hall and were disbanded.

This respect to the faithful officer will have the effect to increase the esprit de corps, and thus benefit the morale of the force.
